THE RETURN OF ALL MONEY PAID AND THE DROPPING OF ALL DEBTS OWED BY ALUMNI OF BARD INSTITUTIONS

We would like a full refund of all money paid for our education and for all debts we owe to be dropped. You and your institutions have coerced us into paying and owing a gigantic amount of money, too much to have never taught us how to begin paying it back. Additionally, the little education we did receive mostly catered to our youthful naivete and enthused us about thinkers and ideas that have little or no bearing in our current service based economy. The knowledge we do cling to mostly serves to frustrate us about the conditions we must endure daily. We can quote several works of philosophy, but we cannot find work. We can hold our own in conversations about many disparate intellectual topics, yet we struggle against homelessness every month.

The promises in Bard literature that the schooling would prepare us for our future have proved to be false. We were not all perfect students, but we worked hard and it was that this promise be fulfilled that we paid for. We ask for a full refund as well as the expiration of all debts owed and that all struggling alumni be refunded and their debts dropped as well. We also ask that all ownership of Bard institutions be transferred to a council of students and faculty and be free of charge in the future. When our demands are met, we will gladly return our diplomas, as they have proven useless.
