In the last couple days or so, everyone has noticed that the Yahoo
Instant Messenger system's 'Chat room' feature was taken away from everyone
whom wasn't 18 or older. I find this completely unfair, alot of kids,
most between the ages of 14-17 roleplay[rp] on there. And not all of the
kids go for the entire 'cyber sex' thing, a good lot of them are
agianst it in fact, so this truthfully is getting out of hand. After first
our user rooms were taken away from something about cybering and people
showing porn off in the chatroom, well the same thing kept happening in
the regular, yahoo set up chatrooms...These bots are not going to just
stop posting child porn, bestiality and the such because the chat rooms
are disabled from the 'children.' Anyone whom really wants to get into
the chat feature, could just make an account that is, or is over the
age of 18 and go upon any part of the chatroom feature they please. So
taking away the system really isn't THAT big of a deal, but that would
cause users to contact their entire friends list, and then remember
all of their names and copy them down to switch them to the other
account, just to change their name. Since AIM have taken away their chatrooms completely, [I mean the rooms they used to have that were filled with bots, not the user chat rooms.] this would also be quite an idea to
bring it back, not just for the roleplayers, but to promote use of YIM as a
total, because I can tell you that quite a few people quit over this
ordeal.

I don't think It's fair they made it so only people 18+ can use the user rooms, although my acount says 18 years old, Doesn't mean that the other people can not use the rooms.

This is the harshest restriction thus far. There's not need to cut off the majority of your users if you can find some other way of protecting them.

I usto love the Chibi Adoption Center in the Games Roleplay Section. I don't understand why teenagers 13+ cannot go to the Yahoo! Games section due to the fact I think it targeted the majority of teens. O.o

I agree with the others. I usually hung out in the roleplay and entertainment user rooms that were for writers and poets. As stated before most of the younger children are against this and I'd like to say that it is not our fault the bots come up presenti
