We, the undersigned, would like to thank you and all those involved in the writing process of the Harry Potter series.
We would like to thank you for rekindling the fire of imagination for a world lacking in wonder.
We would like to thank you for reminding us that great writers are not born instant successes.
We would like to thank you for dispelling the myth that a book is written only for children or for adults, never for everyone.
For understanding that readers must empathize, not idolize or sympathize, with their characters, we give you our thanks.
In writing something that crosses geographical boundaries and ignores cultural distinctions, you gave people in every corner of the Earth something in common. For this we give you our thanks.
For creating a world deep enough that discussion still continues over its intricacies, we thank you.
For reminding us that reading need not be a chore, we thank you.
We thank you for giving us something to look forward to every year for 10 years.
We give our thanks to you for reminding us that friendship is more important than wealth or fame.
By writing the story of a boy who succeeded against all odds, you inspired us to strive to greater heights. For this we thank you.
For illustrating that nothing may be gained without sacrifice, we thank you.
And for demonstrating that there is no force more powerful than love, we thank you.
We, the undersigned, believe that all public heroes should be acknowledged, not just those in political office. We also believe that success is not measured by how many news stations pick up your story or how much your book rights sell for, but by the good you introduce into the world. For the above reasons and many others, we thank Mrs. J.K. Rowling.
