UK Internet Gambling

We, the undersigned, being senior leaders of the Christian Church in the UK, call upon Her Majesty's Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to abandon her proposals to turn Britain into a 'world leader' in internet gambling. We find no moral, social, economic or democratic justification for attracting the gambling industry to the UK and would not welcome the introduction of a tax regime which served that purpose.
