Uniformed Students; Uniformed Teachers

regulations and to add a new specification. This being that all staff of St. Patrick's High School should also be included in the mandatory school uniform policy. If the goal of the uniforms is to make our school look "clean and neat", staff should also be contributing to this. The staff receives a dress-down day on Fridays whereas we, the students, are not even allowed these once a month but rather once every few months.
It had also been brought to our attention that you must be in FULL uniform to catch your school bus. This means uniform bottoms and a uniform top,
making it against the rules to be wearing an item that is not crested or a black bottom if you want to be let on the bus. This is a completely unfair statement due to the fact that buses are not school property and are used
for transportation BEFORE and AFTER SCHOOL HOURS. And once again, if
this rule is to be enforced to students it should also be enforced to the bus drivers of the buses who are the staff of these "uniformed buses".
Also, we are no longer permitted to manually adjust our uniform pieces to
attempt to make them fit better (i.e. tying the back of a shirt with a hair tie). It should not be held at the fault of the students that St. Patrick's High School chooses to associate with UniformPlus which carries extremely over-priced and poorly fitted items.
We would ask that the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board take these
matters into account and thereby consider the revision of these policies.
