Unleash the Dogs on Marin County Open Space

We, the undersigned, are users and owners of the Marin County Open Space (MCOS). Currently, MCOS has a number of diverse policies regarding domesticated animals use of Open Space properties. On most Open Space lands horses are permitted without restrictions and dogs must be leashed everywhere; on others, off-leash dogs are permitted only on designated fire roads when under voice control. We feel this is an arbitrary, discriminatory and restrictive policy and hereby call for an overall change in the policies.





Accompanied dogs should be allowed at least the same freedoms as other domestic animals on the Open Space lands; and should be permitted on public lands unleashed if appropriately socialized. Associated owners/guardians agree to maintain the Open Spaces land use standards.
