We the undersigned petition to immediately have safety measures improved on Cross Avenue, Booterstown

Our school and other schools on Cross Avenue, Booterstown Co Dublin do not have the same safety measures that other surrounding schools have, ie zebra crossings/ramps/lollipop persons etc.

Parents of the children of Booterstown National School have been requesting adequate safety measures for years. The danger of the road has been acknowledged by the Gardai. Parents have been warning that an accident was waiting to happen. The accident unfortunately happened.

The safety measures taken by councils in the past have not been enough. In recent days, we have tried (and failed) to move drivers from the zig zag lines - so these lines are providing no extra protection for our children.

If you think the measures currently in place are inadequate, and that the safety of our children is being jeopardised, please sign this petition which will be presented to the council in the coming days
