Woodlands Not Walmarts: No Mall at Meadowlily

SmartCentres' proposed large commercial development on property neighbouring the environmentally significant area of Meadowlily Woods is an inappropriate use of this land. The Thames River system has been the focus of public debate in the city of London and is increasingly recognised as an under-valued asset that has been seriously degraded by inappropriate development such as the proposed SmartCentres project. We oppose this proposal because it seriously threatens the special place that is Meadowlily Woods and continues a pattern of development in London that is damaging to neighbourhoods, natural systems and the liveability of the city as a whole.
