Dear Mr McNulty / Michael Gove

Re: Abul Kibria, Home Office Ref: K118763

We request you to allow Abul Kibria to stay in the UK with his supporting family and friends. Abul was brought into this country at the age of 11, through no choice of his own and abandoned.

He has since grown up here enjoying a full family and private life, and is currently completing a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science at Farnbrough College Of Technology an accredited College of The University of Surrey.

Returning Abul to Bangladesh at this stage of his life would be detrimental to him. He has insufficient language skills (cannot read or write, can speak but not fluent), he would have no job, no accommodation, and no one there he could turn. He would not be able to do anything there.

Allowing Abul to remain and complete his studies would mean that he could become a valuable member of our society and be able to make a significant contribution to the future development of this country. During the 11 years he has lived in the UK, Abul has been involved in developing the local community. He was involved in peer counseling and also Youth council where he attended several meetings with the local Mayor. He has been self-sufficient and of no burden, whatsoever to the State. He has no criminal record and is not involved with any political or other organisation that is against the public interest. He has done voluntary work for charity, there is a shortage of Abuls skills in the UK computer industry.

On a personal level, as attested by everyone that meets him, Abul is a person of the highest integrity who can inspire loyalty from a wide circle of friends.

Therefore, we gracefully appeal that this petition is upheld on compassionate grounds and Abul is granted permission to remain in this country, outside the rules and outside the Human Rights legislation and consider to be given an opportunity to complete his BCS degree. Stated by the immigration Judge J.R.A Hanratty Paragraph 39 of the determination and reasons.
