The British government has given a commitment, through the St Andrews Agreement, to enact an Irish Language Act at Westminster. POBAL has consulted for 2 years with the Irish speaking community and with international legal experts and has published agreed proposals on an Irish Language Act in February 2006.
We, the undersigned, support the enactment of an Irish Language Act at Westminster, based on POBALs agreed proposals published for a rights-based, comprehensive Irish Language Act.
