Action From UCF Modified

To Ambassador Ronan Sen,
I, an Indian write this letter today with a strong feeling of anger, frustration and hopelessness over the events that rocked my beloved city and country over the past few days. The senseless and barbaric attack on Mumbai has served a deep assault on my psyche and given me many a sleepless nights. It broke my heart to see our policemen engage these terrorists with sub standard protective equipment and primitive weapons. Their only weapons were courage, determination and valor. It is a shame that a city that contributes around 30\% to the nations coffers in terms of tax collection couldn`t arm its police force with appropriate weapons. Many lives could have seen saved if only our policemen had appropriate combat gear and training.
The political leadership was as usual inept in determining the gravity of the situation. Once the grim nature of the situation was realized there was an inordinate and senseless delay in deploying the army and the NSG commandoes. The politicians were busy playing the blame and vote politics game instead of leading from the front. Did their heart not bleed when Mumbai`s street were being painted red from the blood of citizens and the armed forces? Did they not feel the sense of duty and patriotism when bullets were being sprayed on innocent and defenseless people? The politicians have completely failed the people of India and lost the moral right to govern. I as a Non Resident Indian and citizen of India want a change in leadership and demand complete accountability from politicians, bureaucrats and armed forces leaders.

I have following specific demands from the Indian government and the Indian diplomatic missions in the United States of America.

1. Pressurize Pakistan to extradite most wanted terrorists such as Dawood Ibrahim and Maulana Masood Azar to India.
2. Destroy Dawood`s networks in Mumbai and other cities.
3. Arm the police force and the army with latest weaponry and combat equipment.
4. Train the police force in counter terrorism operations.
5. Attack terrorists training camps inside PoK.
6. Hold people accountable from political, bureaucratic and armed forces sectors for this situation.

I, sincerely hope that you will convey the message and sentiments expressed in this letter to the Prime Minister of India, President of India and Government of Maharashtra. I also hope that you will take required diplomatic steps to fulfill these specific goals. Although, I do not expect you to acknowledge the receipt of such individual letters, I expect you to acknowledge the general sentiments and messages of NRIs such as me in mainstream US based Indian media. Failure to do so will only strengthen my resolve to demand action from you and will display your total insensitivity towards a grave situation such as this.
