Albany Park Multicultural Academy Reconstruction Project

As students of Von Steuben High School, our education is being compromised by the middle school students of Albany Park who share our building. These middle school students are disruptive in our hallways and do not respect the property in which we share. With the 10 extra classrooms that they take up, the high school students could gain a math and science lab, a better selection of advanced classes, and generally more space. The Albany Park Multicultural Center is supposed to be moved into a new building by September 2006, but no one, including Mr. Burgess, Von Steuben's principal, believes that they will ever have the building done by that time. We are hoping to get this promise fulfilled by Alderman Margaret Laurino and CPS officials, and we'd greatly appreciate any support to make sure our education is no longer compromised. Thank you.
