Domestic violence has become an after thought. Something so many of us sweep under the rug, something so many of us hide, are ashamed of and live with every single day. Under no circumstance should a woman live in fear or should I child cry him/herself to sleep because he/she can hear his mothers screaming for his daddy to stop hitting her. This is a severe criminal act that should have SEVERE consequences. Chris Brown's actions have awakened this. Domestic violence is just as big of a problem as the economic crisis crumbling our spirits. We need to take care of one another and shred the potential for this continuing cycle of violence. Chris Brown should not be allowed to roam freely after his actions and should be jailed just as any other man or woman that decided to physically or verbally threaten, assault and abuse another human being. We hope that this letter can spark change in your hearts. It's time we invest in taking care of one another. We are all equal and should be treated with respect and nothing less.
