Bigger Stadium for Perth

Perth badly needs a credible, international-standard venue for major events and football. We need a stadium that can hold 60,000 with the possibility of expansion in years to come to accommodate the substantial development required for our growing city.

Perth would not want to miss on being a candidate for some reasonably significant events. Importantly though, a bigger stadium is needed for the long-term health of football in WA. Crowds are getting bigger and we need seats to supply the demand, we need to allow families the opportunity to go to see the footy, and help footballs supporter base grow.

Dads that cannot afford to go to the football with their boys, will not be able to afford Fox either. Resulting in many, who would watch an Eagles game not watching an alternate game meaning young people will not watch either. Kids will then get less exposure to football as a game and are then less likely to actually take up the game but more likely to play other sports. If boys dont take up football it will have a negative impact on the eventual number of players and a reduction in the player pool of AFL drafts in the future.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Short term gain for long term pain

The WAFC and the State Government need to get their act together and get it sorted out as soon as possible instead of laying it off. They are just delaying the inevitable. With WA experiencing the best times ever, its time we need a bigger stadium. We need a bigger stadium where people can go and see their team play.
