As most of you know, sagging TV ratings and concerns over the Labor Day holiday have caused the National Football League to begin the 2001-2002 season one week later (the weekend after Labor Day). This means the one week break between the NFC/AFC Championship games and the Super Bowl will be sacrificed and there will be no one week rest for teams preparing for the Super Bowl. It also means people who are used to the Labor Day Weekend tradition of Pro Football's regular season will be without football...except maybe College Football. By starting the NFL season one week late, it will mean even more lower ratings for the league's TV partners, and disappointment for the fans. All this must change soon. Show the NFL you want to have Pro Football begin again for Labor Day Weekend, even if it has to start the Saturday night before Labor Day (so there will be a break for that holiday). Show the NFL you want to have a regular season WHEN and AS it was meant to be. Don't let the regular season run until after the holiday season. Your support will have the NFL begin at its usual time, and end just before Christmas. Bring back the football schedule we know and love...don't make us endure another one-week delay on the start of the 2002-2003 NFL season. Now is the time for all gridiron fans to unite and bring the NFL season start back WHERE IT BELONGS, and bring back the one week break before the Super Bowl!!! Vote for a NORMAL Pro Football schedule NOW and show the NFL you care!!!
