Canadian Jobs Shold Be First

Our concern is that most of the Canadian drivers have been sent home and Americans are staying to drive for the Paralympics. There were almost 200 positions available for the Paralympics, and majority of them are being filled by non-Canadians! We were told on February 14th, that because the Games are being held in Canada, that Canadians would have first opportunity to stay for the Paralympic Games!
We, as Canadians feel very let down in being sent home so our American friends can continue working!! Our group is growing slowly but surely. If we were listened to while we were still in Vancouver, all we wanted was to stay and work. Now it has escalated! We feel we were unjustly kicked to the curb in our own country! We are seeking retribution for the monies we have lost out on! We were sent home on March.5th, while those in BC are being paid until at least March.24th!
There is no way, in our opinion a Canadian should be out of work to allow for the Americans to take our place! If there were not enough Canadians to fill the positions, then yes, go outside our country! But as Canadians we are very disappointed! I was one of the lucky one's. I have a job to come home to! But there are majority of Canadian drivers who returned home to no income, or to being on unemployment! Even some that took their leave of absence until March.31st as requested and CAN NOT return to work early. They are stuck waiting with no income at all.
