We believe that the current drinking age in America, 21, should be changed back to 18. It is wrong that 18 year olds are legally allowed to make the decisions to move out of their parents houses, live on their own, sign contracts, yet are not allowed to make the decision on whether or not they wish to drink alcohol. That 18 year olds are allowed to apply for the draft, fight and die for our country, yet the are not allowed to drink alcohol. That you, the government of the United States of America, are allowing 18 year olds to make important decisions, yet not smaller decisions such as drinking.
18 year olds are legally adults. It is time for the government to stop making decisions for them like they are children.
