CHEESE STEAK OR BUST: OFFICIAL PENNSYLVANIA STATE FOOD

As of today, Pennsylvania has no known state food that is listed in our state manual and we feel that it is crucial to our commonwealth that we have a food to define our culture. We believe that the Philadelphia Cheese steak should be the official food of our commonwealth; for it not only represents Philadelphia, but also supports our dairy farmers and our cattle farmers whose products are vital to our economy. Although the Philly Cheese steak is not prominent in Western Pennsylvania, we feel that if, through chain restaurants and expansion of Philly's best Cheese steak destinations, we make the cheese steak more accessible to other Pennsylvanians they will soon fall in love it. It is a delectable concoction of bread, meat and cheese that no true Philadelphian would pass up. That's why we believe that it should become the culinary representation of Pennsylvania.
