Cleveland Magnet Humanities Counselors

We, the parents of magnet students attending Cleveland High School Humanities Magnet are gravely concerned. Our children are in great need of counselors. This shortage is neither equitable nor adequate and our children are being negatively impacted.

This magnet program is unusually large, with an October norm of 870 students. We understand no counselors are being allocated to our program. This appears particulary inequitable when compared to other LAUSD magnets which have a much lower counselor-to-student ratio.

With a high achieving demographic and increasingly competitive college admissions, the counseling needs of our students are immediate and substantial.
