We recently learned of your decision to deny coverage for an Ohio woman who needs medication for a kidney transplant that she underwent in 1999. Further, Aetna has stated that they will cover the dialysis if her kidneys should reject. We find the fact that Aetna is not only asking that this woman ruin her kidneys, but the blatant disregard that this company is showing for the person brave enough to become an organ donor appalling.
We demand that Aetna:
Immediately approve coverage for the anti-rejection medication for Sheila Holcomb
Immediately redirect all funding from lobbying to covering life saving, doctor recommended treatment for their members
Stop their practice of denying care in favor of short term profit and provide the care that their members need
