Whereas David Irving has been guided by the convictions of his conscience in the pursuit of historical research,
Whereas David Irving has unjustly attracted the spite of academic historians who disparage him out of financial jealousy and professional envy,
Whereas the details of the treatment of Jews by National Socialist Germany are subject to verification and revision, just as any other historical subject, and are not sacrosanct and reserved only to a self-appointed academic priesthood,
Whereas the right to free speech and the dissemination of opinions ought not be abridged,
Whereas the opinions of one person ought not be promoted to the prejudice of another,
We urge C-SPAN not to give in to pressure from the David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies to rescind the decision to broadcast a speech by David Irving in conjunction with its broadcast of a lecture by Prof. Deborah Lipstadt of Emory University.
