Men and women who have had their basic human rights encroached upon in last 32 years by the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as all freedom loving people who witness the systematic human rights abuse in Iran, welcome you to your position. We have no doubt that you have already received numerous reports about human rights abuse in Iran, either directly from victims or by reports of well known international news agencies. We also have no doubt you are aware of the executions, arbitrary arrests, and physical and emotional torture in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Our intent in writing to you is not to explain the catastrophic human rights situation in Iran under the despotic regime, founded on discrimination. We are asking you to pay special attention to the human rights abuse of workers and wage earners of Iran during your survey. Frequent reports from worker’s rights organizations reveal how the regime of Iran, on a daily bases, abuse the rights of deprived, working people. The workers and wage earners of Iran do not have the right to strike or to have independent trade unions. Many of them are expelled from their jobs, arrested, tortured and put on unfair trials just for demanding these basic rights. Below are the names of some of the workers in prison because of calling for the abovementioned rights: 1. Ibrahim Maddadi: Vice President of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company 2. Reza Shahabi: Treasurer of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company 3. Shahrokh Zamaniz: A member of representative council of the Pursing Committee to Form Labor Organizations, and a founding member of the Organizing Committee of Painters’ Labor Syndicate 4. Mohamad Jarahi: A dismissed worker of Assaluyeh, Iran, a member of the Pursing Committee to Form Labor, and a worker of Saba Passenger Train Company 5. Behnam Ebrahimzadeh: A member of the Pursing Committee to Form Labor Organizations, and a worker of Polyethylene Industrial in the sub-city of Shor Abad in Shahre Ray. Saeed Torabiyan and Shandeezo are also among the above activists and many other activist workers who are also anticipating a trial or receiving prison sentences. We—groups of political, social, and cultural activists—are asking you to please be sensitive and alert about the abuse to worker’s and wage-earner’s basic rights. In case of your possible travel to Iran, please meet with workers in prisons and their families. We hope in your first report about human rights abuse in Iran, the abuse of workers rights will be included. Regards, جناب آقای احمد شهید، گزارشگر ویژه وضعیت حقوق بشر در ایران اجازه دهید قبل از هر کلامی انتخاب شما به عنوان گزارشگر ویژه برای بررسی حقوق بشر در ایران را شادیاش بگوئیم. همه زنان و مردانی که طی سی و دو سال گذشته حقوق اولیه آنها به وسیله رژیم ایران پایمال شده و همه انسانهای آزادیخواه که روزانه شاهد نقض سیسماتیک حقوق بشر در ایران هستند، از انتخاب شما به عنوان گزارشگر ویژه برای بررسی حقوق بشر در ایران استقبال کرده اند. ما امضا کنندگان این نامه برای شما در این مسئولیت انسانی آرزوی موفقیت می کنیم. بدون تردید از زمانی که در این سمت انتخاب شده اید گزارشات فراونی در مورد نقض حقوق بشر در ایران به دست شما رسیده و یا مستثیماً از طریق خبرگزاریهای مهم جهان مطلع شده اید. تردید نداریم که جنابعالی از اعدامها، بازداشتها و شکنجه‌های جسمی و روحی در زندانهای جمهوری اسلامی اطلاع دارید. هدف ما از نگارش این نامه تشریح وضع فاجعه بار حقوق بشر در ایران تحت حاکمیت یم رژیم مستبد که اساس آن بر تبعیض استوار است نیست. ما می خواهیم شما در بررسیهای خود به موارد نقض حقوق بشر در مورد کارگران و مزدبگیران توجه داشته باشید. گزارشهای متعدد نهادهای مدافع حقوق کارگران و مزدبگیران نشان می دهد که رژیم ایران به طور روزمره حقوق نیروهای محروم و زحمتگش کار را نقض می کند. کارگران و مزدبگیران ایران از حق اعتصاب و حق ایجاد تشکلهای مستقل صنفی برخوردار نیسبند. بسیاری از کارگران تنها به خاطر طرح مطالبات اولیه خود از کار اخراج و یا دستگیر و تحت شکنجه و محاکمات ناعادلانه قرار گرفته اند. برخی از کارگران و مزدبگیرانی که هم اکنون در زندان هستند به قرار زیر می باشند *ابراهیم مددی، نایب رئیس سندیکای کارگران شرکت واحد اتوبوسرانی تهران و حومه *رضا شهابی، خزانه دار سندیکای کارگران شرکت واحد اتوبوسرانی تهران و حومه *شاهرخ زمانی، عضو شورای نمایندگان «کمیته پیگیری ایجاد تشکل های کارگری» و عضو «هیئت موسس سندیکای کارگران نقاش و تزئینات ساختمان» *محمد جراحی، کارگر اخراجی عسلویه و عضو کمیته پیگیری ایجاد تشکل های کارگری *سید، کارگر شرکت قطارهای مسافرتی صبا *بهنام ابراهیم زاده ، کارگر کارخانه پلی اتیلین در شهرک صنعتی شور آباد شهر ری *سعید ترابیان، *شاندیزو... بسیاری دیگر از فعالان کارگری نیز در انتظار محاکمه و یا در انتظار ابلاغ اجرای احکام زندانی هستند ما جمعی از فعالان سیاسی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی از شما درخواست می کنیم که از هم اکنون نسبت به نقض حقوق اولیه کارگران و مزدبگیران ایران حساسیت لازم را نشان داده و در صورت مسافرت احتمالی به ایران یا کارگران زندانی و خانواده های آنها دیدار کنید. ما امیدواریم که در اولین گزارش شما موضوع نقض حقوق نیروهای کار ایران گنجانده شود. با احترام امضاها
