The University of Wollongong has long prided itself on being a university which offers quality teaching and learning. However, recently the UOW Arts Faculty culled a large proportion of its subjects.
At no stage did students have an opportunity to be consulted on which subjects should be kept, or why the cuts were neccessary at all. Sometimes, universities have to make tough decisions. It is at times like these when student consultation is most valuable.
We the undersigned, call on the Dean of the University of Wollongong Arts Faculty to provide an explanation to students for the cutting of subjects without student consultation. We further call on the Dean to consult with students regarding the reinstatement of some of the culled courses.
