THE Wallaceburg Area of Schools Accommodation Review Committee (ARC) recently recommended to the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) that, with 3 other urban schools, rural Riverview Central School should be included for consideration in the grade 7/8 re-assignment to Wallaceburg District Secondary School.
IT is the opinion of the undersigned that the decision to include Riverview in this proposal is not representative of the desires of the students, parents, friends, and neighbours of the Riverview Central School community.
WE feel that negative impact of longer bus rides, onerous tax on parental time and obligations, and the loss of rural community and values, far outweigh the 'positive experience' and improved 'learning environment' recommend by the ARC committee.
WE the undersigned petition the LKDSB trustees to vote to exclude Riverview from this consideration at their board meeting on June 11th, 2013.
