1. (Section 1) of Santacruz-Chembur link road whict is at stand stillformorew than 15 months now.
2. start work at other vacant places on the project, like at Buddhacolony,Kurla railway works(Kurla East), Lokmaniya terminus, and tilak nagar.
3. speedly carry out work, were work is already going in a very slowphase.
This petition is created with a sole aim of uniting all commonMumbaikars,Activitist and NGOs.
We all who pass through Kurla Depot-Lalbhadur Shastri Marg, C.S. T.roadknow that 30% compelted work at this mega flyover funded by world bank,isat stand still for more than 15 months now. This news was also telcasteinnews channel Aajtak on Aug 2, 2006 at 11:30 pm in program metrosectionand in the said news interview, Mr. Chandrasheker of MMRD had acceptedtheabove fact and had promised the work will restore immediately and willbecompleted by 2008 which was suppose to be completed in 2003, but morethan 4months had lapsed since this interview at Aajtak, but still the workhas notstarted. Also in said interview Mr. Chandrashekar had said that theflyoverwork stopped because of resettlement issue. Negotionation inresettlement isnot taking any shape and again and again, the deadline to completenegotiation, gets extended.At Kurla Depot explains all small shopkeepers who are completelyloosingtheir shops because of the project have already been given alternateshopsat posh Bandra Kurla Complex. Hundreds of residents of Buddha nagar onC. S.T. Road, have also received alternate accommodation at Mankhud lastyear.Both this places come under section 1 of the project. Huge money fromtheproject already spend on resettlement but still work has not started onbuddha colony land that is now clear after resettlement already takingplace.Funds could not be a problem in this projectbecause world bank is funding, though theirflow of funds were frizzed for a brief period, justrecently between 1st march and 1st July 2006 butsection one work is at stand still for more than 15 months.
Come let us join our hands together for a Joint effort to immediatelyrestorback the work at this flyover, before the cost of this mega projectfurtherincreseas due to delay or the totally half build project goes to scrap,ifnot completed by deadling of 31st march 2008. in such condition, theworldbank may demand back all the advances made to the governement for theproject.
This flyover is convenient and saving time by hours of all commutersfrom western suburbs, who wish to reach Kurla Railwayterminus, chembur, Navi Mumbai or wish to leavemumbai by road via Navi Mumbai and vise-versa for those who wish toreachdomestic and international airports from chembur, Navi-mumbai, Panvelandrest of Maharahtra. This flyover will also reduce traffic congestion atSionjunction and Ghatkoper, as at present these r onlylink used by commuters especially those coming fromsouth mumbai.or from western suburbs between Bandraand Andheri.
Also flyover could be a life saving flyover forpatients especially heart and stroke patients, whocould cut their hospital travel time for reaching fromChembur, Navi Mumbai etc to hospitals like `AsianHeart Hospital' at Bandra Kurla Complex', or `Lilavati' at Bandra west, or `Hinduja hospital' atMahim which r the best in town and r situated atwestern suburbs, as there is not a single renownhospital of this standard at chembur, Navi Mumbai orareas beyond that.Also this flyover will save feul and in return forigne exchange.
I am a young citizen of India, armed with technology, knowledge andlove formy nation, I realize, small aim is a crime.I will work and sweat for a great vision, the vision of transformingIndiainto a developed nation powered by economic strength with value systemandstrong infrastructure. Someone had to take iniciative, we all wait forthatsomeone to take that iniciative and because of this attitute aimportantwork suffered from action.
I am one of the citizens of a billion, only the vision will ignite thebillion souls.It has entered into me, the ignited soul compared to any resource, isthemost powerful resource on the earth, above the earth....
