Get Jacky Cheung to the UK for his World Concert Tour!

This is a petition to get God of Singers, HK Superstar, Jacky Cheung to insert a UK or European date in his upcoming 'Year of Jacky Cheung 2007 World Tour'.

The confirmed venues and dates published on the site www.jackycheungworldtour.com are all situated in Asia, America, Canada and Australia. These are the usual countries that Jacky Cheung visits during his world tours.

Except this year, there is no UK venue.

For every world tour that Jacky Cheung has done (1995, 1999 and 2002) he has had a date in London to perform. It is wrong to neglect his fans in the UK and Europe this time around. Jacky always makes a point of describing that he loves playing in London each time he has a concert here and the fans here always give him a really big welcome.

So it can only be said that this isn't the decision of Jacky Cheung, more that his management team and the concert organisers, Fun Music, have decided to neglect his fans in the UK and Europe, despite most of us having supported him for many years.

This petition is to highlight the amount of fans that Jacky has in the UK that are disappointed by this decision not to have a concert here. Once these companies have seen the amount of support Jacky has here, they may be forced to reconsider.

Once consideration is the money required to hire venues and the turnout that Jacky had during his 2002 concert, which filled half of Wembley Arena. It is highlighted that the concert could be held in a smaller venue hence reducing costs. There are plenty of venues that would be suitable for holding a concert in the UK. It may not necessarily be London. There are plenty of Chinese people and Jacky fans living in other major cities such as Manchester or Birmingham where there are suitable venues. It makes no sense to have no concert in the UK!

I have previously written to Fun Music and this is the reply I had from Florence Chan:

'Thank you very much for your emails with regard to the above captioned. Please be advised that Jacky never neglects his British and European fans and it's always our wish to organize a concert wherever possible for Jacky to sing and meet his fans.

Please understand that it's not easy to arrange such a large number of entourage to travel abroad and we are still trying our best and see if we can organize a concert in London or Europe. If you know a good promoter in the area, you could try to redirect your request to them. Thank you very much for your kind attention and support.'

To which I have written the reply:

'Dear Ms Chan

Thank you for your reply. However, I'm frankly quite appalled at the content of it. I understand that Jacky never neglects his British and European fans however, as his concert organisers, it's clear that Fun Music are causing him to do so. You wrote that I should re-direct my request to a promoter in the area if I wanted Jacky to play in the UK. Did Fun Music ask the fans in Las Vegas, Malaysia and Hong Kong or any other confirmed venue to do so? Did you say to the fans in the confirmed venues 'Please redirect your request to a promoter in the area if you want Jacky Cheung to play here? No. Because Fun Music organised that. So why not do the same for London? I think it's absolutely disgusting that you are asking fans to do what technically is your job! It's ludicrous!

I think it is appalling that Jacky Cheung's world tour is being organised in such a way so that the British fans are being deliberately ignored and neglected. Jacky Cheung has always stopped in Europe on each world tour. Does he know about the requests that have been sent asking for him to play in Europe/UK? If he did then he would certainly do something about it because Jacky has always made a point at his UK concerts to mention to his fans that he loves playing in London.

Please note that it was me who started the email petition to Fun Music in order to get Jacky Cheung to play in the UK. This is because I have been a fan of Jacky Cheung for 20 years (that's almost the entirety of his career and for most of my life!). I will continue to get people to send out this petition until a satisfactory answer has been given to his European Fans. I know that this is not Jacky's decision, it's probably down to his management, but if they knew how many fans were unhappy about this decision, maybe they would change their mind.'

So this peition is here to show the management how many fans Jacky has in the UK and how many are bitterly disappointed that there will be no 2007 concert here.

Fun Music should organise a world tour venue for Jacky in Europe/UK. Otherwise you are making Jacky neglect his fans.
