On October 22, 2014, Pakistani Education Activist Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by the Taliban for speaking out about the right of women and girls to attend school, was scheduled to visit Canada to receive Honourary Citizenship. Unfortunately, that same day, an armed, wannabe terrorist snuck onto government grounds in Ottawa, killing at least one person before finally being taken down by a member of the Canadian House of Commons. As a result, obviously, her visit was cancelled.
I am petitioning former educator and now Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, to extend another invitation to Malala to visit this country.
