Guilty by reason of insanity

I am writing today in loving memory of my beloved brother Jamie booth. He was murdered by a hardened criminal free to roam in society. He had an extensive criminal background, charges including child abuse in the 1st degree, aggrevated assault with a deadly weapon, and driving while under the influnce of alcohol. He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and served severaly years in a mental facility. He was deemed no longer in danger to himself or to others and was released back into society. On the night of September 18th, 2000, James Allen Parker, murdered my brother, Jamie Booth. Had he been locked up in prision, my brother would be alive today. There are three states that do not beleive in pleading not guilty by reason of insanity and they include, Montana, Idaho, and Utah, instead they practice "GBMI" or guilty but mentaly insane. In other words they are tried as a criminal that is guilty and charged accordingly. Upon completion of psyciatric evaluation, and deemed no longer a threat to themselves or society, they are required to complete their full sentence in prison. Please join me today in this fight to make Florida and state that is illegal to plead not guilty by reason of insanity but practices "GBMI", because togather we can make a difference.
