Christmas is a religious and cultural tradition for most Americans, but somehow the words Merry Christmas are being replaced with what are deemed less offensive phrases such as happy holidays and seasons greetings. We believe that most people would rather be wished a Merry Christmas than be greeted with a meaningless expression regarding a nameless season. We cant imagine why reasonable merchants would cave in to those few who oppose the celebration of Christmas by censoring Merry Christmas in their stores and in their advertising. Frankly, we find it unbelievable that we as a society are even debating whether saying Merry Christmas is okay or not.
We are people who live in your community and shop in your store. As Christmas approaches, we anticipate buying gifts, preparing food, and planning celebrations with family and friends. Christmas is a time for goodness, giving, and hope - not political correctness and disinformation. We would like to remind you that 96\% of Americans celebrate Christmas, according to a recent Gallup poll. We know that retail merchants depend upon Christmas sales to make their fiscal year a success. In return, we ask you not to censor Christmas in your store and in your advertising. Please remember: it is okay to say Merry Christmas!
