Housing Subsidy Ending

Did you know that across Canada, as the mortgages of Housing Co-ops that are federally funded are paid off that the Housing Subsidy provided the government for families living in those Housing Co-ops is gone as well?

Housing Co-ops are not required or mandated to provide subsidy for their members, it is the decision of individual Housing Co-op, and many cannot afford to do so.

Housing subsidy is provided for low income families to provide clean, safe and adequate housing. This is not just families on government assistance, but also, working families with low paying jobs, people who work part-time due to family obligations, health reasons or seasonal work.

At the moment, thou many are working on fixing this problem there is nothing in place Housing subsidy at the moment, and we need your help! Everyone counts. If you are not on subsidy, yourself, chances are you know someone who is: a relative, friend, neighbour or co-worker.
