This is a petition to remove the ban on IMC vs. nonIMC fights.
There have been noticeably fewer pro Thai shows this year due to shows making financial losses (understandable in the current climate), this is very bad for the sport as the progression of fighters is dependent on getting continuous fights, without which we can't compete with the other European countries where there are a couple of shows each month for their fighters to gain experience on.
Flights, hotels and purses for big international fights cost a lot more to put on than domestic fights.
One obvious solution is more, cheaper domestic fights but this is made very difficult with the ban on IMC vs. nonIMC fights.
IMC fighters are allowed to fight non Thai style fighters on other shows (K1 shows for example) and foreign fighters are allowed fight on IMC shows. Even if this participation is conditional on the opponent also adhering to IMAC guidelines by submitting an accurate fight record, getting a medical done etc. This means that IMC membership is not mandatory for the opponents of IMC fighters as far as the IMAC or the insurance companies are concerned. The issue lies solely in the hands of the IMC and can be resolved them removing of the ban.
