Installation of Diaper Changing Stations at Gruenebaums Bakery, Skyview Kosher Deli, Judean Hills Pizza, and Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins in Sky View Shopping Center, Riverdale, N Y

As parents of young children and customers of your eating establishments, we thank you for providing us with places to share tasty food with friends and family in Riverdale.

Parents of young children inevitably face challenges in public places, not the least of which is identifying clean, sanitary areas in which to change our childrens diapers. As you may know, this is not possible in any of your establishments, since not one of your bathrooms is equipped with diaper changing stations. We often resort to changing diapers on bathroom floors or outside in our cars and minivans. Such experiences can sour an otherwise pleasant visit to the Sky View Shopping Center. Many of us were quietly hoping you would recognize this unmet need. Through community and online forums, we concluded: a) you may not be aware of the problem; or b) you may benefit from an incentive to act on behalf of Riverdale Kids in Diapers.

***We encourage each of you to install suitable diaper changing stations, such as a plastic fold-up model mounted to the wall, in your bathrooms.***


In doing so, you will earn the appreciation of a loyal customer base, as well as due public acknowledgment. The first establishment to install a diaper changing station and notify us via email will be cited on several Riverdale parenting and family online message boards, and in letters to local politicians and community newspapers. Runners-up will also be acknowledged if they subsequently install changing stations and notify us by April 1, 2008. If we do not hear of any actual or intended installations by this date, we will have little choice but to publicize this sorry state of affairs.
