Internet Protection

Congressional Action is called for in the need to protect the viability of the internet. Such protection is needed for the continual development of the internet as a viable tool that is used in the home, office, and in public domains and as a communication system that could notify citizens in the event of an emergency. Congress must intervene.



Hackers, Record Companies placing root kits, hijacking, and holding a computer for ransom are gross violations of the privacy and freedom of American Citizens. Such crimes should carry harsh penalties since such violations occur in the home and in businesses.



The erronous concept that an operating system can be sold without the built in ability to protect the system is a neglect of responsibility of law-makers in protecting an infrastructure critical to the ongoing development of the United States. Many Americans who would benefit the economy and theirselves by using this resource are denied,robbed and violated in their own homes through this resource that is fast becoming nothing more than a domain of predatory hackers, indentity thieves, and such.



This petition is for the discovery and implemenation of criminal code and penalties for such criminals who would trample upon the freedom of individuals. The people who attack, blackmail, and destroy millions of dollars of property every year through the implementation of denial of service attacks, blackmail, spoofing,and any other method used to offend the security and well being of honest citizens and businesses who could greatly benefit from a secure internet.



Furthermore it is incumbent for software developers to be able to provide the means within an Operating System to protect that system and the PC it is on. If only for the six million consumers who lose thier invetsments due to such activities. Congress must consider these questions and pass strict laws to protect the Internet user who are often caught in the middle of criminals and corporations attempting to protect theirselves.



Any entity that engages in denial of service attacks, blackmail and hijacking personal computers need to be regarded as criminals against society, and the spirit of freedom and rights of the individual of these United States.
