Jon Peter Lewis for Wild Card

Jon has made me a fan since his very first audition in Hawaii where he impressed me with his voice during a beautiful rendition of "Crazy Love." Since then he has impressed me with his wonderful sense of humor and enjoyable personality. Being a fan of his, I am very disappointed by the group 3 results (although the other two contestants were also deserving in this very talented group). I enjoyed Jon's performance of "Tiny Dancer" and although he seemed uncharacteristically nervous, I thought he handled the difficult song very well. I voted for Jon because I believe he has the potential to be the next American Idol...the "whole package." He has been one of the only contestants who really stuck out to me and he is the one I enjoy watching the most. I am sure that many of Jon's fans will agree with me. Because of this I would like to make an appeal to those at Fox and American Idol who have a say in the decision for selecting wildcard contestants.
There are many reasons why Jon should be selected to perform on the wildcard show. First, he has proven that he has a very good voice and also a unique voice which is needed in this competition to add diversity. Jon also has shown a wonderful and very likeable personality including a good sense of humor which is also needed in this competition. Jon has shown that he has a "style" about him and has also shown that he has interestingly different taste in music. (i.e. his favorite male and female pop stars are Paul McCartney and Ella Fitzgerald rather than the normal Justin Timberlake and Christina or Britney.) Jon brings a laid back, cool persona which includes both a maturity and a fun side. Jon seems like a genuine guy who is down-to-earth and very relatable. Jon has a passion and love for music. On top of all of this, he is the "heart-throb" that the competition needs. He has already garnered a very large fanbase of people who adore him, which is not limited to the teenage girl crowd but includes adult fans and male fans as well. (I happen to be 23 years old.) This was proven tonight as he did make it into the top 3. (Making it to the top 3 is a reason why JPL must be brought back as a wildcard in itself.)
I think that all of his fans agree that he IS the total package...the unique, but wonderful voice, great personality, sense of humor, style, passion and looks. On Tues. Feb. 24th, the judges admitted he has a good voice but Paula thought he was nervous and not as confident as before. Simon said he can sing but doesn't look like an American Idol. There were some very similar things that were said to Clay Aiken this time last year. He was given a second chance at the wildcard show and look where he is today. I believe that giving Jon Peter Lewis a second chance is the best and ONLY choice that Fox and American Idol can make. Like Clay, I believe Jon will prove he IS Idol material and he will transform as his confidence grows just as Clay did. I truly believe that he has wonderful potential and I would love for him to remain a contestant on American Idol so that we may watch him grow and continue to wow us with his vocals. I think that this competition needs guys in it to keep it from becoming boring and to keep the viewers interesting. More specifically, this competition NEEDS Jon Peter Lewis!!!
