Women have been suppressed in our male dominated society since the dawn of civilisation. There have been protests, revolutions and reforms before. This is another attempt at trying to conjure public support for the cause of us women.
We are not only oppressed by savage acts of murder and rape but by institutions like Khap Panchayats telling us to stay indoor for more "protection."
Why the need for protection in the first place? Why do men feel the need to showcase their power? What makes them more powerful than women?
No woman wants to feel feeble or insecure but acts like the recent Guwahati incident leave us with loss of dignity, confidence and faith.
Let's make our punitive laws stronger for criminal offenses against women in India; stringent punishment to offenders.
We should have compulsory State funded self defense classes for school kids and women.
Let us join hands in truly empowering the women on modern India.
