This petition is in response to recent news reports that indicate a dispute in the terms of the DART contract. PSTA has threatened to rewrite the contract and open it back up for bids. Under no circumstances should TCSI be allowed to bid on this contract due to severe failure to meet the guidelines of the contract that they held for 13 yrs. Under the contract, clients are supposed to wait no longer than 30 minutes after their scheduled pickup times, however, when TCSI held the contract clients could count on being left stranded for up to two hours on a regular basis. The only reason this was allowed to continue is there was no competition. Yellow Cab has proven, over the course of just five months, that on-time pickup is the norm. The lives of passengers using DART have been changed by the new contract holder. Allowing TCSI to regain control of this contract would be a severe set back to those who depend on reliable, safe public transportation.
