Larry Silverstein's Freedom Tower has failed

Larry Silverstein has let the terrorists defeat New York. The design of the Freedom Tower, instead of restoring the glory of New York, will be a monument to it's defeat. We must not wait for its completion to realize this mistake. The scaffolding at the top 1/3 of the tower announces to the world that he is afraid to build a tall tower. Our skyline is going to be a monument to his fear, which the rest of New York does not share. OUR spirit is stronger than his. The announcement of a 2,600+ tall tower in Dubai is the final nail in this design's coffin. For at time, at least it could have been said that the scaffolding brings the building to the status of the world's tallest building at 1,776 feet. But now the Freedom Tower will never hold that title, and the design is pointless. It's clear that it has failed on every level, and must be replaced. We feel that the process must be halted, that a new structure be conceptualized that accurately captures the bold spirit of the city.
