Lets hold the criminals responsible for their actions and not punish legal minded responsible citizens. The push of a few to totally ban handguns is not only totally irresponsible, but it will not solve the problem. We all know that a person is not suppose to have or use illegal drugs, but illegal drugs can be easily obtained by the criminals, almost anywhere. Just making it illegal to have these drugs has done nothing to stop the criminals from having it.
What this petition is asking is for the Government of Canada to hold the criminals responsible for their actions by making the punishment greater as more of a deterant.If you take the money that would be needed to ban these guns, and use it to put more police on the streets, lawyers, judges, courtrooms, and jails if needed to hold the criminals responsible for their actions.
