We are petitioning The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a Lifetime Achievement Award for Mr. Glenn Ford.
Each year the Academy devotes 10 to 15 minutes of the awards show to entertainers, who have recently past away, who have dedicated their lives to entertaining people, their fans. We, at www.glennfordonline.com believe that these fans should have a voice.
Why must we wait until these wonderful people, who have given us so much enjoyment, are gone to honor them? After they retire why must they think that no one remembers all that they have achieved?
The Academy's Honorary Award is given to honor "extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy." It is given at the discretion of the Board of Governors and is not necessarily given every year, although the last year it was not given was 1987.
Mr. Ford has dedicated 7 decades of his life to the making of fine films that have been enjoyed by filmgoers from around the world.
