Bungie's Marathon and Pathways into darkness should be released to the Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DS has the capabilities to run Marathon and Pathways into Darkness, and will soon be the most powerful handheld for multiplayer on the market. How could any warm-blooded Marathon fan let the multiplaying masses go without this great classic? Despite the fact that Bungie is owned by Microsoft, since there is no handheld version of Microsoft's Xbox™, there would be no competition. And even so, it would not be without precedence considering Halo for Mac. The game would likely be immensely popular, since the DS has a relatively good control set for First Person Shooter games. The Marathoners who lost interest the first time around probably stopped because they did not have access to a Mac network. This would not be an issue with the DS, as it is extremely portable, and connects to other DS's wirelessly. You would just need to take your DS to your friends house, and be in the same BUILDING to play each other. Multiplayer maps, downloaded from the internet (or possibly even made with a built-in editor), could be saved into the DS's memory and provide endless possibilities for multiplayers. Please consider releasing these classics to a new platform with many players. Take the time to sign this petition to let Bungie know this is a good idea.
