Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) as a future Olympic event

We ask that the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) be put forward for consideration as an Olympic event.

MMA is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, with organisations in many countries holding a variety of tournaments and belts. Championships and titles at a range of weight classes are contested with rankings in amateur through to professional.

The spirit of Martial Arts has always been strong within the Olympic dream.
As early as 648 BC, the combat sport of Pankration was added to the ancient Olympics, MMA is seen by many as the most evolved form of Martial Arts.

Every country in the world has its own style and discipline of unarmed combat, and MMA brings them all together in its quest to find the perfect blend of unarmed fighting skills. Exposure in Olympic competition would also bring the relatively unknown arts of some countries into the world of MMA.

Please support the wishes of the public, to bring this exciting sport to the Olympic Competition.
