Nintendo Revolution's Design

News and information on your new Revolution home console has excited many gamers across the world. According to Nintendo representatives such as Satoru Iwata, part of your approach at making this system is to appeal to a wider audience of people than ever before: hardcore gamers, people who used to play games, and people who have never played video games before. However, one aspect of the Revolution has upset the hardcore gaming audience. It has been said there will be no support for Hi-Definition games, and a lack of a hard drive. We do understand your goal is to create a small, quiet, affordable console. However, it is very possible to create a small, sleek, and slim hard drive to fit well with the Revolutions sleek design. Companies like Apple have proven it is possible to fit vast amounts of storage in a tiny amount of space, in their iPod portable media players.

We understand adding Hi-Definition compatibility and a hard drive would cost more money, and you want to keep your system affordable. A possible way around this would be to make two different versions or packages of the revolution to retail when the system is released. A basic package could include the standard Revolution console that you are currently developing, and be set at a lower price. A premium package, suited more for hardcore gamers, could include a system that supports Hi-Definition and comes with a detachable (or internal) hard drive for avid gamers who will be downloading several different classic Nintendo titles online, as you have mentioned will be possible. The premium package would obviously be set at a slightly higher price.

As loyal Nintendo fans, we would love it if you would take our idea into consideration. We only wish the best for Nintendos future in the gaming industry.
