NO TO SOARING TUBE AND BUS FARES

After raising the tube and bus fares respectively from 2 to 3 and from 1.20 to 1.50 this year, Transport for London is programming another major increase to take place at the beginning of next year. Are you prepared to pay 4 for a single tube journey in zone 1? The need to improve the often defective underground network is not an acceptable excuse for such inconceivably high costs, and the justification given by the Company and the Mayor that this is done to encourage transport users to take Oyster Cards is dubious. Oyster Card fares rose along normal fares last year (the price of the Oyster Card monthly bus pass augmented by almost a third last January). If the Oyster Card prices are well cheaper than the normal ones, they are still quite expensive.
Besides, the use of the Card is not applicable to everyone. What about tourists, visitors, or Londoners who occasionally forget their cards? Please sign this petition to express your disagreement with the never-ending increase in the London transport fares.
