Nokia N97 Scratched Lens Replacement

Nokia recently released a flagship device - The Nokia N97. The N97 suffers from a manufacturing issue which results in the sliding lens cover actually scratching the lens it is supposed to protect. This results in poor image quality, blurring and light artefacts of varying levels for affected owners.
Nokia are refusing to acknowledge that there is an issue, but are replacing lenses at Nokia Care Points on an adhoc basic. Meanwhile customers are continuing to purchase a device that is effectively damaging itself.
This petition is aiming to achieve two things: -
1. That Nokia should publicly acknowledge that there is an issue with the lens cover on the N97.
2. That Nokia will replace affected handsets with new (not hastily repaired) handsets as an apology when the issue has been resolved at manufacturing level.

My N97 is only a couple of weeks old and there's a scratch between the lens and the flash. I'm lucky so far it wasn't in front of the lens -looks to be only a matter of time.

I would expect that these types of error in design would be taken into responsilbity by Nokia as its the small details that keeps a customer happy.
