Invicta has yet again decided to change its uniform policy, this time with regards to the Sixth Form Dress Code. Despite ensuring we had all signed a learning agreement forcing adhereance to the dress code at the beginning of the year, this has since been changed to a new dress code. We are now expected to go and buy new clothes, six weeks into the new school year. Not only will this be expensive, but it is also dishonest and unfair to students and parents alike who have signed the learning agreement. The large majority of parents were not consulted before this change was made and students who were concerned at the beginning of the year were told that the old dress code would remain throughout their sixth form life. Students and parents have already invested large sums of money into buying outfits to last the whole of sixth form. In addition to this, they also had to purchase uniform to last just one year in year 11, which also proved expensive for the amount of time it was required to be worn. The initial plan explained to students and parents was that the new dress code would be phased in from year 11 onwards, changing this puts increasing pressure on students trying to concentrate on their studies rather than what they are wearing.
In signing this petition you agree that the dress code should not be changed for years 12 and 13 and the 'new' sixth form dress code should be phased in from year 11, as was originally suggested.
