POD Cameras for the City of Chicago

Over a hundred and ninety men, women and children have been killed in Chicago since the start of 2010. The situation has become critical. Some have even called for the mobilizing of the Illinois National Guard to patrol the city streets. The quality of life in the city is declining and the situation is posed to spiral out of control. Many reasons can be sited for the increase in the rise of crime and violence from, unemployment to police budgetary issues, but very few solutions present themselves.

The only tool that seems to be effective in reducing crime and violence in Chicago is the use of Police Observation Devices (POD) cameras technology. Pod technology use during police operations; typically see crime decrease by 76\%.

There are many examples of POD camera technology working to stop crime and save lives. This is a proven technology that works in preventing crime and violence.

Please join us in calling for the city wide installation of Police Observation Devices (POD) cameras and the establishment of a volunteer electronic community watch program to observe the cameras. By pairing Police Observation Devices (POD) with a volunteer electronic community watch program, it would free up police resources, increase public safety and provide anonymity for the volunteer.

This petition will be sent to city and state officials demanding that this program be establish as a crime prevention measure and to ensure the safety on its citizens on city streets.
