'Private' Novel TV Series/Movie

We, the undersigned, would like to encourage Alloy Entertainment and Simon & Schuster to actively pursue the prospect of having the 'Private' novel series adapted into a television serial or feature-length film.

In recent times, the commonly labeled "chick lit" genre of novels has seen a rise in popular culture, and this is evidenced by the fact that two novel series of this variety from Alloy ('How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls' and 'Gossip Girl') have been green-lit for television. We believe that the 'Private' series has proven itself to possess the commercial and creative values that make it worthy of similar adaptation.

With regard to commercial value, it has been noted that 'Private' novels have performed exceptionally well on the 'New York Times' Bestseller list, with the fifth, sixth, and seventh books debuting at numbers 3, 2, and 3 respectively. With chick lit novels at a popular high, and the 'Private' series expanding with a prequel and spin-off, it is only likely that the commercial value will increase in the near future.

As far as creative value is concerned, 'Private' has earned a dedicated following which has cited several distinguishing elements, including mystery, character, and narrative progress from one book to the next. Adapting this package of intriguing enigmas and vivid personalities to the screen is, at the least, certain to gain attention among the target audience, and likely to gain popularity as well (as evidenced by the multi-season runs of television shows with similar teenage concepts).

With these thoughts in mind, we hope that the series will have a chance at a live-action adaptation, and express our support as follows.
