We are calling on the government to protect our green belts from unscrupulous property developers who are seeking to profit from the destruction of our natural environment.
We are very concerned that speculators are buying up large tracts of green belt land across South East England and are selling it on in plots, waving the unlikely promise of future planning permission, to gullible people who are desperate for a home.
This practice is no different to that of con men in america who sell pieces of swampland to unsuspecting pensioners and it blights the lives of those people who live locally and creates land management problems for future generations.
This practice is morally repugnant and the government should take action before it is too late
