WE, THE ASSYRIAN PEOPLE, belonging to the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East, the Chaldean Catholic Church, the Syrian Catholic Church, the Syrian Orthodox Church, the Assyrian Presbyterian Church, and the Assyrian Evangelical Church, PROTEST your denouncement of the Assyrian peoples national right to obtain an autonomous State of Assyria in their homeland, north Iraq.
It is regrettable that the Vatican would take such an appalling stand against national and human rights of the indigenous Christian Assyrians, the most persecuted nation in Iraq. The Assyrians will continue to strive for self-rule, whether the Vatican finds it joyful or not.
