RAW Diva Search Sending Negative Messages to Young Women

Recently, 19 jobs of WWE/Ohio Valley Wrestling were lost, yet somehow $250,000 can magically pop up to pay the winner of this contest, who has neither no wrestling training nor skills whatsoever. On top of this, most of the contestants usually end up getting hired anyway. What is the point of having such a competition if everyone gets a job--and dont even wrestle to begin with?
The Diva Search also sends the wrong message to young women, who are constantly bombarded with messages and ideals from the media as it is to develop an impossibly unattainable goal to be perfect as it is without having the Diva Search shoved down their throats week after week every year telling them that as far as society goes, women SHOULD look like the girls in the Diva Search, and if they do not, they are inferior in some way.
Girls in their teens are having cosmetic surgery they don't need and going on diets that not only will make them below their ideal, healthy weight, but also risk permanent disability and/or death in the process.
The concept wouldnt be scrutinized and criticized by the mainstream media if they had women represented all shapes, sizes and ethnicities. Even the age gap can go above 20-29; there are many beautiful, talented people in the world that are not blonde, blue eyed 20 year old size 2 Caucasians. It is the popular opinion that the Diva Search would be better received by fans if women of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds were represented and the winner would be someone they could indeed identify with. A woman with actual wrestling talent and experience would also be a bonus.
The Diva Search is basically telling young women they have to be thin, plasticized, overly made-up models, which in turn, women receive the message of Im not good enough for anything or anyone unless I look like that. That is the only way I can really be accepted. Hence, the end result of this can be severe eating disorders, low self esteem, even suicide when they find out they cannot attain this impossible goal.
I have witnessed firsthand seeing females from teenage girls all the way up to women in their 40s that don't have a big enough chest, or aren't pretty enough or some other flaws risking both their lives and health in attempts to make people accept them.
And that is part of what the Diva Search and other things like that teach girls and women in general: You can be a talentless human being and not be very intelligent, but as long as you are beautiful by societys standards, nothing else counts.
I suggest if WWE wants to raise their buy rates, television ratings on a permanent, regular basis, and put fans in the seats at live shows, they need to start delivering what they have promised for years--WRESTLING--not some glorified beauty pageant that takes up televsion time, only to give basically a free pass to some woman with no wrestling experience via a contract that REAL wrestlers worked for years risking limbs and lives for. And if they must have something like this, ALL women should be represented in in it.
It's time to give wrestling back to the WRESTLERS.
